There are so many face masks out there, it can be hard to choose which one is the best for you. Back when I was in high school, I don’t remember there being very many options for face masks, but now if you look at any major skincare line, you will see there are SO many choices for every skincare need imaginable.
Personally, my skincare concerns change on a weekly basis! Sometimes I am worried about acne, and sometimes I am worried about severe dryness. On a regular basis I am concerned with anti aging and lack of moisture and radiance in my skin. It helps to have a couple options on hand so that no matter your skincare concern, you have something you can turn to in your arsenal. Don’t let the plethora of options overwhelm you…be grateful that no matter your ailment, there is a product out there that can make everything better!
Do Everything Masks…
Miracle Skin Transformer Miracle Revival Mud Mask is an amazing mask meant to improve hydration, elasticity, and firmness, even skin tone, and reduce surface redness. The mud in the mask is formulated with bioactive silts sourced from European spring-fed lakes and it targets age spots, fine lines, and helps stimulate collagen production. It is also free of synthetic fragrances, dyes, waxes, mineral oils, and talc. For $38 you get an enormous tub of this that will probably last you a really long time, especially if it’s on rotation.
I have to hand it to Miracle Skin. I have never ever tried a product of theirs and not immediately fallen in love. This mask is no exception! After one use I can tell a noticeable change in my skin. This is my go to mask most of the time I am looking for something to magically make my skin look better and only have a couple minutes. It never leaves my skin tight and dry. My skin feels hydrated, looks more radiant, my pores appear to be smaller, my skin is softer, pretty much you name it, this mask does it! I feel like this is a one size fits all mask and anyone with any type of skin would really enjoy it. I love that this unclogs my pores and also makes my skin hydrated, in the same mask!
Zensation Healing and Soothing Mask is another mask that seems to do it all. I primarily use this in the summer since it’s meant for combination to oily skin types, and I fall a little more under that category in the summer than I do in the winter. This mask helps balance oil production, slows the growth of bacteria to prevent breakouts, calm inflammation, and reduces excess sebum to help create a radiant and clear complexion.
It’s described as a purifying treatment mask and I would definitely agree. This is like a breath of fresh air for my face and always makes my skin feels absolutely amazing. My skin always soaks up the mask and when I tissue it off I am left with the softest, most amazing complexion. I have on occasion worn this to bed too if I have a sunburn and it feels so nice!
Clinique Acne Solutions Oil Control Cleansing Mask is one I turn to when I’m having a bout with terrible skin. It contains smoothing natural clay and helps prevent blemishes, prevent breakouts and keep skin shine-free. I love that it doesn’t dry my skin out like most acne products do, so when I am having a breakout I often use this as my first step to clear my skin up before trying to monkey around with serums, spot treatments, and lotions.
I’ve found the key to using clay masks when you have dry skin is to really watch the clock and not let too much time pass before rinsing off. If the mask dries completely on your face and you get engrossed in a tv show and don’t wash it off for a half hour your skin is going to be hurting when you have to rip the dried clay off. This is one of the more mild acne masks I’ve found and I don’t get the terrible dryness after using it. I do need a little extra moisturizer when I’m done using it but it’s worth it for how well it clears my skin up.
Karuna Clarifying Sheet Masks are amazing in every way. They are formulated for dry, dull, dehydrated and sensitive skin. They retain skin’s natural moisture level, infuse more moisture into the skin with hyaluronic acid (my favorite skincare ingredient), and renew damaged skin. After opening the package, you place the cloth mask on your skin and the amazing ingredients are then absorbed into your skin.
Overnight masks are my favorite kind of mask. Applying something before bed and waking up to perfect skin is just my style. These three are some of my absolute favorites.
Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask is one of my all time favorite skin care discoveries. I love Clinique’s Moisture Surge line, and wanted to replenish my moisturizer, and didn’t realize this was part of the line. I love the Moisture Surge formula in the summer, but it doesn’t have the SPF I need, so I prefer to use it at night. It just so happens that this mask is an overnight mask and is quite a bit cheaper than the moisturizer, plus comes in a squeezy bottle rather than a tub, which I definitely prefer. I absolutely love how this feels- it is slightly creamier than the regular formula.
I use this at night whenever I am feeling dry. I apply serum, eye cream, and then seal the deal with the overnight mask. This is the best stuff ever for moisture. My skin seriously glows in the morning after using this. I remember in high school I would use Moisture Surge at night (the moisturizer not the mask) and I would sometimes feel so confident in my skin when I woke up, that I would go foundation free the next day. I’m 27 now so the chances of me ditching foundation for the day are rather low, but this stuff makes me almost confident enough to skip it! The Overnight Mask is like the regular formula on steroids!
That’s a lot of masks! I hope you were able to get a little insight on what has worked for me. If you want to read more info or shop, click on the product below and check it out in detail!
