I’ve had a hard time getting on board with a lot of the Spring releases this year, because some of them are just downright dreary! Not so for Shiseido this year. They have some really beautiful new releases I can’t wait to share with you!
They’ve got new skincare and makeup, some of which has been released, and some which will be released in March. I’ll tell you what’s new, then I’ll give you the lowdown on what I’ve tried:Future Solution LX Total Protective Emulsion SPF18 ($240) and Future Solution LX Superior Radiance Serum ($225) reduce the appearance of wrinkles, sagging, visible pores and dullness with the groundbreaking anti-aging ingredient Skingenecell 1P
White Lucent Total Brightening Serum ($125/30ml, $170/50ml) helps prevent and diminish the appearance of dark spots and dullness, re-texturizing the skin’s surface for added luster and moisture with Resveratrol, 4MSK, and active ingredient Bright Derm Fragrance (launching February)
Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Pure Retinol Express Smoothing Eye Mask ($63) immediately helps to improve the appearance of eye area wrinkles and helps brighten dark circles and dullness with advanced Pure Retinol Micro-Infusion Technology (launching February)
Sheer Eye Zone Corrector ($30, 6 shades) cancels out “color noise” to brighten and balance skin tone in a convenient applicator- pen, with 96% of women reporting under-eye dark circles immediately minimized (launching February)
Lacquer Gloss ($25, 8 shades), designed by Artistic Director Dick Page, offers a transparent lacquer finish with shine, color and moisture from a triple-layer formula, inspired by the suki-urushi style of traditional Japanese lacquerware artistry (launching February)
New shades are being added to the Lacquer Rouge ($25, 7 shades) and the Shimmering Cream Eye Color ($25, 8 shades) collections (launching February)
Sebum & Oil Blotting Papers ($12) and Sweat & Oil Blotting Film ($12) provide on-the-go solutions for a refreshed, oil-free complexion and are ideal for use before makeup touchups (launching March)
The Sheer Eye Zone Corrector
is a corrector that neutralizes dark circles and has an ultra-thin formula specifically for the eye zone. It has a little brush tip applicator that you can see above and when you twist the base, the color clicks out to the tip. I have the Shade 02 Light. I really like this formula but I don’t think it’s for everybody. It pairs really well with the Sheer and Perfect Foundation
because they have the same sheer and super light texture. If you’re looking for a heavy duty concealer for your undereye area, this is not what you’re looking for. However, I find this perfect for days when I’m not wearing much makeup and just want to conceal around my eyes to soften up my look a little bit. I think this will be a summer staple for me for sure!
The new Shimmering Cream Eye Colors
above are brand new to the line. I have two and from left to right they are BE 217 Yuba (sheer gold) and RS 318 Konpeito (sheer purple/cranberry). Those aren’t the actual descriptions but as far as I can tell they’re an accurate description. You can apply these with your finger and they’re super lightweight. In fact if I try to build them up too much from their original sheer state, they crease on me. I love to use the gold shade on the inner corner of my eye and use the cranberry color as a crease shade. It’s a very flattering combo and I think anyone would love it!
Lacquer Rouge PK 425 Borbon
is a new release for the lipstick line. It’s a rich liquid lipstick and the formula is supposed to improve dry, rough, or peeling lips with continued use, leaving them smooth and deeply moisturized. One coat provides intense color and deep luster. When you see the swatch picture below you will see this is meant to be an uber bright pink. It doesn’t quite translate as brightly to lips in one swipe, but a couple swipes will get you there. The formula on this liquid lipstick is a bit different than I expected. It feels almost like a waxy balm and you have to apply a little more of it than you’d think to get the desired effect on your lips. I’m sure the texture is what lends itself to really healing the lips. I love this color and I think it’s a great shade to take us into Spring.
The new Lacquer Gloss in RS 306 Plum Wine
is probably my favorite of all the shades. I love the wet and glossy formula, and the shade itself seems universally flattering. Plum is a color that looks good on just about everybody. The eight shades available are described as having a rich, deep sheen and vivid clear color reminiscent of the beloved Japanese art form. You can add multiple layers of lacquer for a little more intensity, or if you use just a swipe it goes on moderately sheer.

Will you be picking anything up? If I could only choose two items I’d go with the Plum Wine and the Sheer Eye Zone Corrector. How about you?
