Is skincare a splurge or a save item for you? I have gone both ways on the spectrum. It is my goal to save big time wherever I can this year (see #3 on this post) and if I can save on something that’s going to be washed right down the drain, I definitely want in on that action. Luckily for me, Garnier came out with a skincare line this year that brings us eight products designed for every skin type. I have six to show you here.
For Dry Skin…
Garnier’s Nourishing Cleansing Oil is a moisturizing cleanser that transforms upon contact with water into a soothing, milky texture to instantly dissolve impurities and makeup leaving no greasy residue.
I loved this product. I applied a couple pumps to my face, and used it to remove my eye makeup, as well as cleanse my face. It did a pretty good job taking off my mascara, although I still had to clean up a little bit of my eye makeup off after using this. I really liked that there was no strong scent, and it did make my skin feel a little softer after use. It didn’t leave me feeling greasy, or overly hydrated, but my skin didn’t feel tight either. Overall, this is a good choice for those who are new to cleansing oils and don’t want to invest, because the $7.99 price tag makes it worth a try!
Smoothing Cream Cleanser is a soap-free formula effectively removes dirt while leaving skin feeling hydrated, smoother and softer.
This was probably my favorite product of the bunch. It worked great with the Clarisonic and definitely left my skin feeling hydrated and soft. I wish it would left my skin feeling a little more hydrated, but the important thing is it didn’t strip my skin’s oils. If I apply moisturizer right away after using this, my skin feels fantastic. For $7.99, if you have dry skin, this is a fantastic option for a cleanser.
For Combination Skin…
The Purifying Foam Cleanser and the Balancing Daily Exfoliator are both great options for combination skin. Both products claim to target the t-zone to cleanse away the oil and soften the dry areas to add more balance to the skin. Both retail at $7.99.
For Oily Skin…
For oily skin, the Shine Control Cleansing Gel is said to dissolve pore-clogging dirt and draw out impurities like a magnet diminishing pores and mattifying skin. My dry skin wouldn’t like this formula, but it sounds wonderful for oily skin! Also $7.99.
For smoothing skin…
The Skin Renew Instant Smoother 5 Sec Blur product is meant to fill in fine lines and wrinkles, conceal pores, smooth flaws, and mattify shine. It can go over your daily moisturizer to smooth skin and retails at only $16.99 which is pretty inexpensive compared to most products that do the same thing. I have found this particularly helpful to use midway through the day as a makeup refresher. I love to use this on a face of makeup that has gotten a little cakey for an instant refresh. It works great under makeup as well!
As a whole this is a great product line at a cheap price tag. I loved the dry skin formulas and the Skin Renew Instant Smoother. I think the oily skin and combination skin formulas would be excellent as well, but couldn’t vouch for that skin type, since I’m a dry girl!
