bella swan breaking dawn part 2 makeup tutorial
Talk to any blogger and they will tell you that their most popular post of all time is something really random they never thought would have been that popular. Unfortunately for me, my most popular post was something really random that I never thought people would be that interested in AND rather embarrassing. Looking back at the quality of this post, I cringe when I see how many hits it’s received in the last year. I’m going to subtitle this post….”what a difference a year makes” because I’ve done quite a few things between then and now to improve my lighting and photography.
This look is centered around Bella Swan in Breaking Dawn Part 2. I was absolutely taken by Bella’s look in the film. She has similar coloring to me- fair skin, dark eyes, and dark hair. The biggest difference is I don’t sparkle in the sun, and I would never have cheated on Robert Pattinson. Although, in the movies I’m Team Jacob!
Her look is stunning and requires very few products, most of which you may already own! I used some indie and limited edition products the first time I created this look, so I thought for the second go around, I would do stuff that’s more easily accessible. This look is characterized by pale facial makeup, dark brows, and lots of matte brown shades. All the makeup seems very cool toned to me. In fact, rather than being a Bella Swan tutorial, this could really be an all matte brown tutorial.

Breaking Dawn Part 2 Makeup Look

First I applied my foundation of choice- tarte’s Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation. I’ve been using this a lot recently and you can read my review here. I put just a smidgen of tarte exposed blush on the apples of my cheeks. It’s a brown toned blush that is perfect for this look.
Next, I moved on to my eyes and primed with Mac’s Painterly Paint Pot. I’ve been using this for a primer for several months and I love the way it intensifies my eyeshadows while helping them last longer. I put this on from lash line to brow bone. I then moved on to my Lorac Pro Palette. I’ve been singing the praises of this palette for a while. A row of shimmer and a row of mattes? Be still my heart. I carry this with me everywhere. For this tutorial you’ll only need the top row of mattes.
I love being an artist with these colors. I swirl my brush around and mix and match colors wherever I please. from the inner corners of my eyes, I used White. I mixed White and Cream together for my brow bone shade. Taupe and Sable got mixed together for my crease shade, and Espresso and Black got worked into the outer corners and underneath my eyes as a smudgy liner. Urban Decay Hustle was my brown eyeliner of choice. For this look (if you’re trying to replicate Bella) I think you would need a brown eyeliner since hers looks all brown. If you’re just going for the allover matte shades, use whatever you like.
I used Clinique High Impact Mascara on my lashes and didn’t use any falsies. Benefit Brow Zings in Dark went on my eyebrows. I almost forgot to add (because I almost never do this) I contoured my nose a little bit with the shade Taupe from the Lorac Pro Palette. I thought it would be kind of fun to do and Bella’s looks like hers has a little side shading going on.
I literally can’t do my makeup without using some sort of illuminator, so I put some bareMinerals Stroke of Light underneath my eyes, underneath my lips, and down my nose. It doesn’t give much if any coverage because it’s pretty sheer, but I like the way it brightens everything just a little bit! Buxom Hooligan is my lip shade of choice for this look. It’s a super hydrating formula and I just love the shade and think it’s great for every day.
There you have it!  A great natural, every day vampire look.  This has been my most popular post of all time so I thought I’d take the time to redo it and improve a little bit. On the left is the first look I created, and on the right is my new look. Crazy what a difference a little bit of time and some learning will make huh?
