The Tarte of Giving Collector’s Set & Travel Bag is one of my favorite holiday gift sets for the season. This is something you will not want to miss out on. For people obsessed with tarte, you’re going to love this kit, since it has a little bit of everything. For people new to tarte, this is a perfect way to try everything for the first time. Someone who is looking to start their makeup collection, could start and stop here, and have all they would need for a full year! There are so many options here.
Let’s start with the quilted bag. This is a gorgeous purple bag that opens to reveal two storage areas. It hangs by this gold hook, making it perfect for travel.
Looking inside the first pouch, there are some deluxe minis of some of tarte’s best products. If you’re familiar with tarte, you’ll know exactly what these are. Here’s a list of the goodies in this pouch!

– 0.23 oz Deluxe Pure Maracuja Oil
– 0.08 oz Deluxe Maracuja C-Brighter™ Eye Treatment
– 0.05 oz Deluxe Limited-Edition Amazonian 12-Hour Clay Blush in Memorable
– 0.17 oz Deluxe Cheek Stain in Flush
– 0.16 oz Deluxe Lights, Camera, Lashes™ 4-In-1 Mascara

A closer look at everything in the package.

Lights, Camera, Lashes is tarte’s mascara that is considered a push up bra for the lashes. It’s 4-in-1- lengthening, curling, volumizing, and conditioning. Olive esters condition, treat, and protect lashes. This is a great mascara that I’ve used a lot in the past. I have a review of their new mascara (Lights, Camera, Flashes) coming up soon! This deluxe mini is a great way to try their mascara before splurging on the full size, which is $19.

The blush included in this package is a limited edition shade Memorable, and I think it’s such a pretty shade. There’s a little sparkle in it, but when applied you definitely don’t look like a disco ball. I swatched it pretty dark here. The deluxe size included in this set, is a 0.05 oz. size, whereas the full size is 0.2 oz. I still think it’s a pretty generous size, and I have no problem getting my blush brush in there. I don’t think I’ve ever used up a full sized blush in my life, so this size is still plenty to work with.
The cheek stain in Flush will also last a really long time. I’ve tried to depict both of these products to show them as true to color as possible.
8 x .059 oz Deluxe Maracuja Lipglosses is next in this package. These colors are all gorgeous and in my opinion, just the perfect size for toting in your pocket or purse. There are a couple bright shades, some neutrals, and pretty much everything could work well for every day. In the swatches below you can see that at the beginning of the swatch, there is lots of pigmented color, and it sheers out. If you build the color up in a few layers on your lips you could achieve the most pigmented shade, and one swipe will get you a sheer shade on your lips. They have a bit of a peppermint tingle that reminds me of the Buxom lip glosses that I love so much.
Next up is the eyeshadow palette. This palette contains 20 x .07 oz Limited-Edition Amazonian Clay Eye Shadows. There are basically four quads, and each has a liner that is on the side of the quad. You could mix and match these for sure, but I feel like they did a great job pairing colors that work really well together.
Each shade is called something really cute like it’s a Christmas present for a child. “Kim’s porcelain doll” and “Jen’s jump rope” are some examples of the names of the shades. I think it’s a really cute idea for a holiday palette. Below, these are swatched heavily on top of MAC Painterly Paint Pot. This is the third time I’ve swatched these…the first time I did just a coat of the shadows and they were hard to see. The second time my swatches were great, but my SD card deleted them somehow. So…third time’s a charm. I hope these help you. I think for the most part these shades are pretty easy to put on sheer and naturally, but they are definitely able to be build up into something more dramatic, which is kind of how I’ve swatched them. They’re easiest to see that way.
Kim’s porcelain doll is kind of hard to see on the skin at all. This is about 6 layers of color that I’ve built up and you still can’t really see it. It’s kind of a pastel blue sheen that is really pretty but doesn’t show up as well on my pale NC20 skin.
I’ve been obsessed with this grouping of eyeshadows. I think Leigh’s locket is such a lovely gold shade, and I love the taupe-y shade’s Ali’s bicycle and Maureen’s soccer ball. I’ve been wearing Candace’s tap shoes as a crease shade and I love that there’s a dark brown matte shade.
I’m a fiend for purple, and I love Meredith’s hula hoop. I love the way it looks with the lighter shimmery shades in this grouping. Sam’s ice skates makes a great deep purple-y blue liner shade too.
The only shades I’m not sure of in this palette are Bianca’s coloring book, which is kind of chalky when I swatch it, and Anna’s tea set which looks murky on my skin tone. I absolutely love Kate’s puppy as a liner shade or as a dramatic crease shade.
All in all, the Tarte of Giving Collector’s Bag & Travel Bag is a phenomenal value. You will score all of the above for $59, and it’s a $490 value. I’m recommending this to everyone I know, makeup hoarders and beginners alike. There is so much to offer in this gift set, you really can’t go wrong!
