Menswear on women is a trend I love watching others pull off, because I cannot. I think the androgynous look works for many, but not myself. If I dress like a dude, I look like a dude.
L’Occitane Eau Universelle solves my problem by letting me smell like a hot guy while I wear my regular girly clothes. Inspired by the beautiful fountains found in the villages of southern France, Eau Universelle appeals to both men and women. The essential oils found in the fragrance are Mediterranean bergamot and grapefruit. The result is a fresh, citrusy scent that is long lasting and delicious.
It’s worth mentioning that this is the largest bottle of perfume I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s 10.1 oz and retails at $52. Not too shabby of a price at all, am I right? A smaller 1.7 oz size is also available for $30, but why not get almost 6 times more and just spring for the larger bottle? I can say with confidence this will never run out!
I’ve tried two other fragrances formulated for both men and women- CK One and Unbreakable Joy. I have to say that all the androgynous colognes I’ve tried smell very similar in that they’re citrusy and have a sort of combination between sweet and musk going.
Would my husband wear this? No. I can tell you with certainty he would not. It’s not that it’s not a “manly” scent, but it’s not really a traditional male scent. He’s likes more of the Givenchy Play variety- deep, heavy, complex fragrance. If he ever changes his mind, I literally have a pint of cologne waiting for us to share!
Have you tried a “goes both ways” type scent? I’m curious if there are more out there and if they have similar citrus notes.
