It’s been June for a couple of days but I couldn’t forget about May favorites! I’ve been using many of these products for months now and have mentioned many of these time and time again. A couple may have gotten under the radar and not been written about here, so it’s time to change that. Without further adieu…
I’ve been wearing black shirts practically every day. The reason is because they’re so easy to accessorize! I have lots of fun summer shoes, and everything matches black. I can also go many different directions with my jewelry if I keep my shirt black. Black is my go to color year round, and since I own about 20 black shirts, it’s easy to keep a black shirt on rotation in my wardrobe.
I was obsessed with my eyebrows in the month of May, and used my Benefit Brow Zings daily. I wear the shade dark right now with my darker hair. The way I wear this is by using the Clinique eye definer brush and dipping it into the wax and the powder back and forth, then it applying it to my eyebrows. For at least the last two months I’ve been using Tweezerman’s Eyenhance Brow Definer Duo– just the highlighter side- and sweeping it on my brow bone.
I’ve been testing out lots of different tinted moisturizers and foundations, but my favorite lately is Clinique’s CC Cream. It’s a natural look that’s like I’m not wearing makeup at all but still gives me great coverage. I apply it with my air.port Beauty Blender which is the most awesome invention possibly ever for makeup! It is superb for blending my makeup. I don’t know how I ever lived without mine. Mine is looking a little rough after about a month, but they are supposed to last a couple months, so I’m going to be more careful when I wash it!
For body products, I’ve been really enjoying shimmering body oils on my arms and chest and legs lately. The Body Shop has a good one, and so does L’Occitane. Also I’ve been using Marchesa‘s perfume a bunch lately. I bought the rollerball at Sephora, and it is so yummy! It’s definitely quickly becoming my signature summer fragrance. I’ve listed the notes below…just know that it is a really complex fragrance and smells very beachy to me! I have a ton of perfume and am on a no buy, but couldn’t resist this scent. I think it’s really seductive yet clean, and although it’s floral, it’s got a lot of warmth to it rather than being too sweet or crisp.
Notes: Iris Flower, Freesia, Black Current, Young Violet Leaves, Lotus Flower, Night Blooming Jasmine, Bulgarian Rose Water, Orange Blossom, Iris Root, Ambrox, Captive Musks.
For skincare, I’ve been using the Clarisonic along with Clinique skin care. I’m not really a huge fan of their regular 3 step, so I do a modified version. For cleanser, I’ve been loving Clinique’s foaming cleanser. With the Clarisonic, this bubbles a little bit up my nose if I’m not careful, which is annoying, but the end result of my skin is worth it! Clarifying Lotion 2 is my next step followed by Moisture Surge and All About Eyes. I’m a huge fan of all of Clinique’s Moisture Surge products, (the CC cream is one of them) and I’m dying to try their overnight mask and their Moisture Surge Intense at some point. I’m a big fan of the All About Eyes line as well, having tried their concealer, and anti-puff rollerball and loved them both!
After my skin care regimen (at night) is complete, I always do the final three steps before bed- 1) fix my cellulite, 2) lipbalm, and 3) feet.
I know you can’t truly FIX cellulite, but I like to lotion up my booty with Shrink to Fit. The bottle I have is said to last 30 days when used morning and night, and I’m about halfway through it. The tingling feeling it gives me tells me it is smoothing and tightening my skin. Although my skin does feel firmer after use, I’m not sure that it’s actually doing anything yet. Hopefully in time my skin does undergo a little shrinkage, because I sure could use it!
For lip balm, I’ve been using Josie Maran’s Argan High Gloss Lip Quench. This will definitely be a repurchase for me when I’m out, because it is extremely hydrating and when I apply it at night, I literally wake up with softer, plumper lips. It is super thick, so not something I would wear during the day, although it’s meant to be used whenever, and even over lipstick.
My feet love The Body Shop’s Peppermint Cooling Foot Rescue Treatment. When I apply it at night, the scent of peppermint is so soothing, and my feet are super soft by morning.
These are just a few of my favorite things over the past month. A couple new things, but mostly old goodies that I have loved for a long time. What are you loving lately? Share in the comments so I can try out some of your favorite things!
