Brace yourself! I rarely cover drugstore products on my blog, but I have a smattering of them today. It’s not that I don’t enjoy a good deal or drugstore products, but it’s not really my forte. I’ve always been a high end gal. That said, there are some AWESOME drugstore products I have discovered since blogging, and they are absolutely worth mentioning- because they’re outstanding, and because they’re inexpensive. When you can get something for cheaper and it’s just as good as the expensive thing, then why not?
To be noted- these Maybelline products are available for the month of May 2013 ONLY. Yikes, there’s not much time! Run, don’t walk to your nearest Walgreens, Rite Aid, Fred Meyer, Walmart, ULTA, wherever you shop!

Color Tattoo eyeshadows in
Icy Mint, Precious Pearl and Seashore Frosts

Get inked: Make eyes pop with eight bold shades of Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream-Gel Shadow. The semi-permanent gel-cream smoothes on for vibrant, crease-resistant color that wears for 24 hours – a must for steamy summer days. Amp up your look with one of these flattering shades: Blue Paradise, Cool Crush, Icy Mint, Lavish Lavender, Precious Pearl, Seashore Frosts, Shady Shores or Waves of White. $6.99

The most impressive and unique shade of the bunch is Seashore Frosts, which has a duo chrome finish. It’s definitely worth checking out if you can! These colors tend to go on really sheer for me, but can be built up. For the price these are great, and I do enjoy layering them on top of one another. If you’re new to the land of Color Tattoos, I would recommend starting with Bad to the Bronze (not part of this collection) from their permanent line. It’s one of my favorites!
Canary Cool, Turquoise Paradise, Azure Seas

This has been my first time trying Maybelline Nail polish and I have to say I’m quite impressed. Ironically, the same day I tested these out, a friend of mind texted me a picture saying they were the best polishes ever because they “go on nice, dry quick, and have a nice color selection.” I have say I absolutely agree. The other major selling point is that they are only $3.99 at my local Fred Meyer!
Anybody who has seen a nail polish collection this summer knows that BLUE is where it’s at too. Every line has a blue or three. I am loving both Turquoise paradise and Azure Seas. So gorgeous! I’ve even worn them without a base or top coat when in a rush and found them to wear nicely that way too. They have a pretty standard wear time for me- 2-3 days with minor chipping. I’m hard on my nails, so it might last longer for you!

Seaso-nail Colors: Nothing says summer more than a bright manicure! Color Show Nail Lacquer will be available in 10 show-stopping new shades that will perfectly complement your summer wardrobe. The chip resistant formula will be available in: Azure Seas, Bare Escape, Canary Cool, Midnight Swim, Mint Mist, Pacific Blues, Poolside, Sandstorm, Turquoise Paradise and Urban Utopia. $3.99

swatched on my nail wheel
Top- Color Whisper in Ravishing Pink
Bottom- Color Sensational High Shine Lip Gloss in Coral Heat

Go light: Get soft, sexy lips with Color Sensational Color Whisper. This lightweight lipstick creates translucent, light color with a kiss of shine. Nourishing honey nectar keeps lips soft and the barely there feel makes this a summer beauty must-have. Try it in one – or all four! – of the limited edition shades: I Crave Coral, Nude Shimmer, Ravishing Pink and Sienna Sands. $7.49

Shine on: Make a statement with six gorgeous shades of Color Sensational High Shine Lip Gloss. This wax-free gloss delivers pure color for saturated look with the ultimate shine. Honey nectar nourishes lips. Coral Heat, Fuschia Sparks, Nude Compliment, Peach Glisten, Peony Sheen, and Rose Lust pack the perfect punch. $7.49

The lip products by Maybelline are all fantastic. The Color Whisper lipstick is like a tinted lip balm and lipstick hybrid. Very moisturizing, a gorgeous sheer color on the lips, and not very long lasting. I don’t mind reapplying though because it feels great. I appreciate that Ravishing Pink was so light and soft that I didn’t even need a mirror for reapplication.

Coral Heat lip gloss was very pretty on and reminded me a coral-pink-orange. I would love to try more shades from the Color Sensational High Shine Lip Glosses. I felt it was very shiny and hydrating, but not sticky at all- a common downfall of many drugstore lip glosses.

Limited edition Dream Sun Bronzing collection:
· Dream Sun Bronzing Powder Four Seasons is a unique, multi-tonal palette that creates a customized bronzed look. Choose how light or dark you want to go, or combine the shades all over for a radiant glow. Available in Light and Medium, $8.99
· Illuminate skin with the Dream Sun Bronzing Face Illuminator, a gel formula that reflects light to highlight skin and create a warm, shimmery glow. Available in one universal shade. $8.99
· Perfect for all-over bronzing, the Dream Sun Bronzing Powder Matte creates a natural sun-kissed glow in a matte finish that is ideal for the T-zone. Available in Light and Medium, $8.99
· The Dream Sun Bronzing Powder Glow offers a touch of shimmer that’s perfect for cheekbones and brow bones or to add a touch of sultriness to shoulders, collarbones and décolleté. Available in Light and Medium, $8.99

Of the bronzers in this collection, I tried the powder bronzers and not the gel. I was quite impressed at the quality of the Medium Glow bronzers and now I really want to get my hands on the gel face illuminator! I noticed that a very little bit of the bronzer on a fluffy brush went a very long way. I made a few mistakes with application at first and spent a lot of time buffing out murky brown spots on my cheeks! A little at a time gives the most gorgeous glow with these bronzers though. I recommend testing them out for yourself, especially at such a wonderful price point.
Have you tried out the new Maybelline line? This high-end loving gal is loving these drugstore finds for May 2013! When making your wish list, don’t forget that these are limited edition for May, and May’s almost through!

Let me know if you try any! If you can’t make it to the store to get the limited edition May ones, you should pick up Bad to the Bronze- my absolute favorite. It’s from their permanent line!

Hahah, I laughed when you said you were always been a high end gal, because I can relate with that. I’m guilty… and also almost broke! Lol.
