When I opened up Lancome’s Aquatic Essence
palette I was super excited to see the gorgeous, sparkling colors inside. I own a few of the All-in-One Shadow/Liner palettes and they are divine. I also own literally most of the Color Design Sensational Effects Eye Shadow singles. Simply put, most of my eyeshadow collection is Lancome.
Infinitely luminous. Sensationally smooth. All-in-one 6 shadow palette to brighten eyes. Indulge in a limited-edition compact with shades of golden copper and brown mixed with aquatic teal. Inspired by the warmth of the sun and colors of mosaic tiles at the bottom of a pool, this new versatile, all-in-one palette conveniently creates a full eye look for day or night.
Sweep the light peach under the brow and the deep apricot color on the lid, blending them together. After lining the eyes, apply the turquoise shade over the liner to intensify the color. For more intensity, add the bronze shadow to the contour or into the lash line.

check out what a great browbone highlighter the white shimmery shade makes!
Honestly, I was a little worried about how these would look when applied. They were extremely sparkly in the palette. Have you tried Midnight Cowboy by Urban Decay? I hate that shade, because of its copious amounts of sparkle. I cringed thinking of how I was going to apply this because sparkles and glitter chunks are a complete nightmare to apply! Luckily, once swatched, I found that most of the glitter was an overspray.
I took swatches at every angle above so you can see the sheen on these. They are truly gorgeous shades and the lasting power is at least 8-10 hours without fading. I found that once you get past the overspray of glitter on top of the colors, that only the two darkest shades contain much glitter at all. The remaining four shades have shimmer and sheen, but not actual glitter chunks. They apply beautifully, and the colors are soft and buttery, making them easy to apply with a brush. These can be used wet or dry, but I find the pigmentation with Lancome shadows to be great whether applied wet or dry. Don’t think you need to apply this wet to get the high pigmentation you’re going for. I would also use a primer.
Is this a palette you would give a try? I love that it’s inspired by the mosaic tiles at the bottom of a pool! Who thinks of that?! These are so gorgeous and I would definitely recommend giving the palette a try!
