Today I have a guest blog up from a blogger/youtuber Ms. Kimi Kiwi. She is sharing with us her essential makeup routine made up of reliable products that she knows she can rely on and turn to.

On a typical work day, I never have enough time to hit all the “makeup bases.” My intentions of a fully thought out creative look are completely lost when the snooze button wins.
I always wear foundation. If nothing else, I always include this step in my routine. I have problematic skin, so I feel that it is a must for me. It brightens and wakes up my face! I use my Sigma F82 brush to apply my foundation for the best coverage. However, to shave off some time you can always use both of your hands and apply the foundation like you would your moisturizer. I always set with powder to make it last all day!
For blush, I like to use one that can double as a highlighter. I love this one from Prestige because it gives me that “lit from within” glow. You can also use your fingers to apply this to your eye lids for a quick and out the door eye look.
Another option for the eyes is to use a pencil shadow. These are great because they are quick to apply and you can blend them out with your fingers without the need for brushes. I like to apply them to my lower lash line as well to really make my eyes pop. I then just finish the look with some mascara. I like to use a waterproof variety to ensure that my curl lasts throughout the day.
For lips, I do not fuss with lip products that need heavy precision in order to look good. I will pick a tinted balm like one of the Revlon Lip Butters, or the new one I’m loving from Almay — liquid lip balm. These are great because they are quick to apply…easy to wear and are literally no fuss. Basically, you want something you can apply without a mirror as you’re walking out the door.
There are ways to cut corners and still look put together. A lot of it comes with using multitasking products as well as adding a little color to the lips. If you really only have a couple minutes, keep it to foundation and mascara; these items are magic to perking up the face.
Kim also has an accompanying video if you’d like to see this makeup look in action. Kim is known in the Youtube community for her well thought out video tutorials and intricate makeup looks.
