Mally Beauty and LORAC both have outstanding options if you want to contour and conceal this season. Two of my favorite products are the Mally Pro-Tricks Correct and Conceal palette and the LORAC Touch-Up To Go Concealer/Foundation Pen. These products can be used in a variety of ways, but I’ll walk you through my favorite way to use these! I’ve created a couple images so you can better understand what I do.
In the picture below, you can very lightly see some shading around the nostrils, down the bridge of the nose, on the brow bone, and triangle shapes underneath the eyes. After applying my foundation, BB cream, or whatever I’m using for coverage, I like to apply LORAC’s Touch-Up To Go in all of these areas. I feel it brightens up the areas a little more and provides a bit more coverage. I like to wear more makeup in the center of my face for better coverage, and I find as I get further out towards my cheeks and hairline, that I don’t need as much.
The applicator is really simple to use! You simply push a button on the end of the brush and the concealer pumps out through the bristles. The shade I am swatching is Golden Light. There are 12 shades on their website to choose from, so rest assured there is a perfect shade for you. This actually blends into my skin perfectly for what I am using it for right now. If it becomes too light with a summer tan, I plan to use it to highlight my skin a little bit. A little bit on the cheekbones and under my eyes will create the perfect non-shimmery highlighter.
The concealer pen is travel-friendly, and long wearing. A couple more benefits include that it’s oil, paraben and fragrance free and is infused with Vitamins A and E, Acai Berry, White and Green Tea to help promote a healthy and youthful-looking complexion. It also provides medium coverage, which I generally find to be enough for me. When I need full coverage, I reach for my Eraste Paste (by Benefit).
This picture shows what I like to do to contour. I’m sure there is a more complex way to contour, but I’m all about easy. I like to apply a darker matte shade to my hairline, both sides of my nose, hollows of my cheekbones, and on my neck. It kind of looks like I applied it around my nostrils above, but that’s actually part of the face, and not part of my drawing! I find that blending the two darker shades from Mally’s palette helps me achieve the look I’m going for when contouring.
There is a palette called Lighter and one called Deeper, and this is the Lighter. As you can see in my swatches below, there is a huge variety to the shades. Besides the option to use this for contouring, I also like this as an all encompassing palette for year round. I never get as pale as the lightest shade and I never get as dark as the darkest shade. However, if i mix all the shades together, I will have a shade that matches me during every month of the year, however tan or pale I am. How perfect is that? If you know me, you know that I have a TON of concealers because I always want to have a good quality one around for each skin tone I have during different times of the year. Duh- a concealer palette is totally where it’s at!
I’ve really been enjoying the Mally and the LORAC products for all my concealing and contouring needs this season. What do you use? Leave a message in the comments below!
