I thought it would be fun to start little series called “Fitness Friday” where I go over some of my fitness goals with all of you and share whether I’ve met them. You know, a little accountability… I’m really trying hard to find some motivation to get off my butt, but my daughter is exactly 5 months old tomorrow…so I’m running out of excuses. I WANT to be healthy, but my actions haven’t been in line with my goals lately. I can do this though…I know I can…
Here are my fitness goals for the week:
- Take a walk outside in the fresh air at least twice, weather permitting. (If it snows, I can’t make myself. I’m a wimp.)
- Make it to the gym to run a mile at least 3 times.
- Go to a fitness class at the gym.
Baby steps, people! Now here are some fitness related things I’ve been enjoying this week:
Hello, beautiful view on my walk! These are the mountains that I can see when I go for a walk. During this outing, the sun was starting to set. Beautiful, right? I want more 50 degree days like that day!
I’ve been wearing my Proskins leggings when I work out. The leggings have caffeine, retinol, and Vitamin E build into them to help reduce cellulite and shrink down your booty and your legs. I know that only diet and exercise will truly help you lose weight, but other things can tweak you here and there. These leggings retail at $120 so the average person would not be able to afford these to work out in. They are meant to be worn daily and within 28 days of daily use, they are reported to have many benefits related to thigh slimming, etc. I think stuff like this is a little hoaxy but I can happily report that it’s easy to run in these because because the material is soft and clingy to my legs and they are super long, so they keep me warm.
My Gold’s Gym Waist Slimmer Belt is something I’ve been wearing underneath my workout shirts. It’s nice to have something to suck my gut in a little bit while I’m working out, but I hate sweating in this thing. I sweat and it traps all the sweat in by my stomach and I feel like a big sweaty mess when I’m done working out. Plus, it takes forever to air dry the nasty sweat from this, and I’m afraid to put it in the wash or dryer because of the material. The velcro gets caught on my pants too, which is annoying. But…I feel like sweating extra is probably only helping me, so I continue to wear it.
Fitting Room Slimming Essentials by MyBody is something I’ve just started using in conjunction with my workouts. The Body Polish is used in the shower to exfoliate dead skin cells and stimulate your circulation. The Body Serum stimulates tissue drainage and strengthens skin cells and connective tissues. The body lotion moisturizes the skin and improves the appearance. The rolly thingy can be used on your cellulite to promote tissue drainage as well! Obviously this isn’t a system to replace your workouts, but it makes you feel darn good! The scent is so light and fresh, and the products make your skin wonderfully soft. I just love the whole MyBody brand. While there is no cure for cellulite, I do love improving the appearance of my body skin. It always seems to take a back seat to my face skin unless I’m truly pampering myself. Leaving these on my bathroom counter reminds me to take a second to moisturize my whole body and reminds me of how enjoyable having soft and fresh skin is!
I’ve been testing out this Lavanila Healthy Deodorant the past few days. I love the way it smells and I love how healthy it is. It contains NO: Parabens, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, Silicones, Propylene Glycol, Mineral Oils, Synthetic Dyes, Sulfates, Chemical Sunscreens, or Aluminum. For working out, I really need an antiperspirant or I become very stinky, so this is not something I can use when I go to the gym. However, I as soon as I get home this is very refreshing to swipe on! The natural scent of vanilla is a great relaxing scent after my workout. I like that it doesn’t have aluminum, which is linked to some cancers. I wish they would come out with an antiperspirant and I would have it made!
What products make it easy/more fun to get in shape and fit? I was always the girl that had fun, colorful, way too expensive notebooks and school supplies for school growing up because I felt like they added a little excitement to my day. I’m the same way with my workouts! I have to have all the cool gear, and the stars have to align just the right way if I want to force myself to go. Hopefully I will stick to my goals this week and I can report back to you next week with new ones!
