Holiday Look
Mineral Foundation in Medium
Mineral Blush in Candy Girl
Citrine/Black Diamond on the Eyes
Candy Girl worn as lip gloss

I recently had the opportunity to try out some glitter eye products from Mahya Minerals Cosmetics.  I have had an opportunity to try out their makeup products before, and I have to say I’m a huge fan of their foundation, and blushes.  Their foundation goes on flawlessly and I think it rivals Bare Minerals (which if you know makeup, is some really good stuff).
One of the greatest things about their mineral powder cosmetics products is they can all be used in a variety of ways.  I’ve used the blush as an eyeshadow, but you can use any of the products as a lipgloss (just add it to your favorite balm), hair highlights, eyeshadow, etc.  You can use the dark browns to fill in your brows or any of the colors as eyeliner as well.  A lot of companies say that their products are multi purpose and then it’s kind of hard to get them to work in more than one way, but I can honestly say I’ve tried dual uses for these and they’re great!  The minerals are very silky smooth and not hard to work with.  They stick to your face too without having a lot of fallout.  I hate when I’m working with a bright color on my eyes and it falls onto my cheeks!

To achieve the eye look you see here, I used their Pink line.  The eye glitters are $11.99 each and trust me when I say there is A LOT of product in each one.  You don’t need much to make these work so it’s a great value.  To apply the glitters to the skin, first apply the eye glitter gel.  It acts as a primer so that the sparkles stick!
I experimented with several different brushes vs. just using my fingers for application, and I actually preferred using my fingers.  The method of application that worked best for me was to first apply the eye glitter gel to my lid, and apply a little bit to my finger, then dip my finger into the lid to retrieve the glitter and press it on to my lid.  I loved the way it turned out!  As with any highly shimmery product, I recommend using it first THEN applying any foundation in case there is some fall out.

On their website their are many instructions for how else it can be used.  I plan on trying to mix a bit of the glitter with hair gel some time to get shimmery tips in my hair (how rad would that be?!) and I may also try to layer with eyeshadow colors to create some neat, multifaceted looks!  How would you try them?
We would love if you would sign up to win this same eye glitters kit!  Glitters not really your thing?  Remember that Christmas is around the corner, and I think this makes a great gift for a teenager or someone in their early 20s!  It might be a great gift for a coworker too if you are looking for something special! No actually! I haven’t used it since Jocelyn was born. I’m trying to hold off on using anything so I can test out Lashem. Speaking of which….I should probably bust open my bottle of that sometime soon.

This look is just beautiful! I love holiday makeup so much. Silly question, but I can’t seem to find how to follow you with GFC on your page and I want to keep up with your posts beyond twitter/facebook. Sorry to bother you, but can you help me out? Thanks! 🙂
