We were recently asked to try some products from Laura Geller and tell you what we think! Today I will give you a mini review on some of my new favorites from her line. Leave me a comment and tell me if you’ve tried any of these and if they’ve worked for you!
Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 (bottom left box, left)
The applicator took me by surprise when I opened the lid and instead of being a squeeze top, it was a pump top! No matter, I dig it. It’s oil free, fragrance free, talc free, water resistant, and has SPF 20. Pretty bomb, the only thing I don’t love about it is it doesn’t spread very far, so you need several pumps to cover your whole face. The bottle is kind of little compared to other similar products so the use of several pumps could mean you run out fast. The coverage is pretty standard for it being a tinted moisturizer. This is a good option for someone with good skin who just wants to even out their skin tone. It also layers well if you want to wear a powder over the top.
The Real Deal Foundation SPF 15 (bottom left corner, right)
This is a stick formula that twists up like a chap stick. The color I have is a bit light for my skin tone but since it’s a bit thicker of a formula, I like wearing it more as a concealer. This is also a little hard to spread but if you are in the market for a full coverage, thick cover up this is your ticket. I have enjoyed using it not only as a spot concealer, but since it’s a little light for me for all over, I use it as a brightening highlight shade. I put a streak down my nose, under my eyes, and around my nose and blend it in with my natural shade of foundation everywhere else. The red lips pictured can be pulled apart and used to help blend the foundation- it also fits into the contours of your face really well to help cover all the nooks and crannies. The result is the above right box. Healthy, luminous looking skin.
Balance-N-Bronze (bottom right corner, left)
These are unique compacts. They are split down the middle with one shade on each side, and the powder is a dome shape. The left side is “balance” which is meant for the whole face. The right side is “bronze” which is meant for wherever you put your bronzer. Some people swirl the whole palette together and apply it that way, but when I do that it creates too dark of an effect to look nice on my face. The ideal way for me to apply this is by swirling the brush first in the balance to apply to my whole face, then to the bronze. When I apply separately like this, I find balance to be a great allover color to set my foundation with, and the bronze to be a very light wash of color that looks natural.
Blush-N-Glow/Tahitian Glow (bottom right corner, right)
This is a really gorgeous palette, split down the middle with a beautiful blush on one side and a bronzer on the other side. I have a full size of the bronzer and I love it! It is a little deeper and mostly matte. The blush side gives a really natural looking flush to the cheeks. I would highly recommend this combo of blush and bronzer to anyone looking to try Laura Geller products for the first time.
