We recently were given the opportunity to try some of Laventine’s Facial Cleansing Oils. This was a product I had heard about from another blog. I was really intrigued by the concept of washing my face with oil! There are three formulas- Dry/Normal Skin, Oily/Combo Skin, and Olive Forte.
I’ve been bouncing around between the Olive Forte and the Oily/Combo. I would classify myself as normal/combination to dry. This means my skin is either mostly normal with some dry patches or it’s just plain dry. The cleansing oil did a great job removing all my makeup including waterproof mascara, without drying out my face. As indicated on the directions, I used 2-3 pumps on my whole face, rubbed it in as best as I could, and only when I wanted to wash it off did I add water.
After a few days of use, I thought it had earned its place in my shower, and I tried taking the easy route and putting the bottle in my shower to use in there. Not a good plan! Turns out, when you try to create a lather with the oil and water at the same time, nothing happens. It’s totally ineffective, and when they wrote the directions, they were meant to be followed! DO NOT add water to the equation at all until you are ready to rinse off.
All in all, I felt that the oil did a fantastic job restoring a natural balance to my face, and my skin looked and felt refreshed and brighter when I woke up. I’m guessing because it didn’t strip all the natural oils and good stuff from my skin when I washed with it. This is an excellent product that I plan to use again in the future and I would highly recommend it to anyone!
