Bite Beauty Deconstructed Rose Lip Gloss Library

If you read this blog regularly, you know of my recent obsession with Bite Beauty. I have to have everything! They just came out with an end cap at my Sephora inside JC Penney and now I need all the things.

Before wrapping up my shopping adventure for the Sephora VIB Rouge Sale, I decided to go online and see if there was anything exclusive that I needed to see. Imagine how thrilled I was to see that Bite had this exclusive Deconstructed Rose Lip Gloss Library, a $165 value for $49, and further marked down an additional 15% for the Rouge sale. I put it in my shopping cart on Sephora.com along with some OCC lip tars (I’ll be posting about soon) and then a few days later panicked that they would sell out before I checked out. Now these little pretties are mine and I can share them with you!

There are 12 lip glosses in the set, each high-shine, ultrahydrating and inspired by the timelessness and healing properties of the rose. They are lightly fragranced with a rose scent and each hue- from soft, ethereal pink to deep, striking red- is inspired by a blossom.

As far as the scent goes I would say these are a little more than lightly scented. I can also taste rosewater very distinctly in these glosses. I don’t think it’s a bad thing, but if you’re into tasteless lip glosses, you may not like this. The scent is undetectable after about 30 minutes, but the taste stays with me until the colors fade, which is around two hours.

If you want to pick this up, keep in mind that Sephora is the exclusive retailer!

I was very struck by the colors of these glosses. I think they are so pretty! They are named in order from one through twelve, and each gloss is 0.05 oz.

One is light pink/mauve. Two is rosey pink. Three is light coral. Four is raisin. Five is mauve. Six is dusty rose. Seven is dusty coral. Eight is muted cherry. Nine is apple red. Ten is jewel red. Eleven is dark red/brown. Twelve is deep purple.

0.05 oz may be hard to imagine, but this is about what size you can expect from one of the tubes. They are pretty small! If you’re like me and never use up a lip gloss, you won’t mind.

When applying these, I found the applicator didn’t get enough product out and I needed to dip in twice to get full coverage on my lips.

This is a shot of the swatches in direct sunlight. I think I can see them a little better in this picture. I have pretty colorless lips, so I can see myself getting the most use out of the more pigmented colors, 7-12.

With the wear time at only a couple hours, I think this would be a skip for most people. They are slightly sticky and the rosewater taste does stick around for a bit which might be bothersome for some. I definitely wouldn’t have paid $165 but with the VIB Rouge Discount I paid around $42. I’m pretty comfortable with that price but I don’t think I would’ve paid more. These are pretty small but I did gain a lot of shades I really love! If you’re looking to boost your gloss collection this Spring, look no further!

Other great things to know about these products are that they are formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and they were created with natural and food-grade ingredients.

Will you be picking these up?

So funny, I actually JUST bought this yesterday. I saw it on your wish list post and I’m obsessed with Bite Beauty and wanted to use the 15% off on 1 thing I really wanted which was this and 1 thing I really needed which is Urban Decay all nighter which is a must have staple! I’m obsessed with it. I can’t wait to use it more. I wore #3 for my date last night :)
