First off, my relationship with Estée Lauder's product- ANR. I (briefly) worked at an Estée Lauder counter. I had never tried the products in my life, and had only heard of them. Quite honestly, I still don't know everything there is to know about their products. They are very similar to Clinique. But one product that they are VERY well known for is their Advanced Night Repair.
The benefits to using ANR are to repair past visible damage and help protect the skin's future (according to their website). The way it feels going on is like an ultra thin runny liquid. Almost everyone who tries this for the first time is taken aback by the texture. How is something so runny going to help my skin look glowy and fabulous? The key is you have to "lock it in" with a moisturizer. For some reason, that's not in the instructions on their website, but it was part of my training, so I know it to be true.
The reason I love ANR so much is when you use it, even after just one use, you wake up with skin that looks refreshed, glowing, hydrated, plumped out (as in your fine lines basically disappear or dramatically decrease in how obvious they look). If you use it every night for an extended period of time you may not even need to use foundation. This is some serious stuff. I'm not joking when I say that you try this, and you can't imagine your skin without it. Except the price tag...
1 oz= $55The prices on this are such a major bummer. During EL's gift with purchase, I hoard the little sample bottles of this. I try to apply once every 3-4 days to get it to stretch out as long as possible. The part that stinks about skimping out is yes, you get to conserve it, but your skin doesn't receive as many benefits as it would if you could afford to apply it daily. You're paying an arm and a leg for something that doesn't get to do it's complete job if you don't apply it daily. Enter, Reviva Labs.
1.7 oz= $84
3.4 oz= $140
When I had the chance to try a Reviva Labs product, I was stoked to see Hyaluronic Acid Serum on their website. ANR basically IS hyaluronic acid- that's their active ingredient. After trying this for just a few days, I'm totally hooked. I have been experiencing even softer and more hydrated skin than with ANR! I love waking up in the morning and feeling that my face is so soft and actually seeing a noticeable difference in one use. Seriously, incredible. Best yet? You can get 1 oz for $22 on their website, and even cheaper on Amazon.
The one difference is that this serum is not runny or thin, it feels almost like a makeup primer- it's silky and soft going on. I need only one pump (unlike ANR where I need about 5 drops). This little bottle will last me forever. Because it's inexpensive, I am looking forward to being able to use as much of this as I need daily to have great skin all the time, not just when I can afford to apply it. Plus, I'll be able to repurchase. I was only able to shell out for ANR one time, and it was while I was getting "the discount."
In short, I love both of these products and would use both again, but the only one I'll be repurchasing is the Reviva Labs product. You can't beat the price, and for skin that truly feels even better in the morning than the expensive competitor why would I ever go back?
Is this a product you would try? I'm 26 and I'm just starting to see fine lines developing. If you are in your 20s and have no wrinkles or fine lines, this is a great product to keep your skin looking great. If you are in your mid 20s or older, this is a great product to give your just-starting-to-look-crappy skin a little pick me up! Highly recommended!
Reviva Labs provided a sample for this review, but the opinions are honest and my own.
